It’s Thanksgiving Week for some of you (this holiday is celebrated in North America). And for us Right Media-ites, we’ll be celebrating it Thursday and Friday–and will subsequently be out of the office.
However, Direct Media Exchange –and the overall Right Media Exchange–never sleeps. It will still be humming along.
If you have the holiday off, here are some great ways to use up those long, final minutes before the turkey comes out of the oven…
1) Update the CPMs for your 3rd party placements. Compare what that ad unit usually earns from your 3rd party deals, then update your minimum bid price for this placement. This is a key way to elicit higher bids for your impressions–which increases your revenue overall.
2) Frequency cap your placements. It’s all about supply and demand, and those first 4 impressions are more valuable then the following ones. If your network is filling almost 100%, increase the frequency cap–this gives a network more access to your inventory. And if you find a network isn’t filling 100% of your inventory, lower the frequency cap. Read more about it here.
3) Geo target. Find out what geographic areas each of your networks target to, then geo-target accordingly. Thus, if they focus on US only traffic, geo-target that placement for ‘US-only’. Read Luke’s article about it here.
4) What about Media Guard? Are you sure you aren’t over banning your creatives? More creatives means more revenue potential. And as the holidays arrive, they’ll be even more seasonal ads flowing.
