See Through Us - RMX Direct
October 24th, 2006
Here are some words of wisdom stumbled upon at TheAlphaMarketer blog:
(That’s about creating something the customer can use; something they want already.)
(That’s the company trying to design a better product for you, the customer).
But let’s add to this a little and take it in a sligthly different direction:
“When we get the best data” for our customers to use, we allow them to make their own best decisions.
Transparency.
As the community education point person for RMX Direct, I don’t think of myself as a marketeer per say. Afterall, RMX Direct is a free product for non-enterprise publishers. But it is my responsibility to micro-educate (to our current members) and macro-educate to the masses.
Besides the communal aspect of being able to talk to other publishers–some learning, and most succeeding–on monetizing their website effectively on our platform…YOU’VE GOT TO GIVE THEM THE DATA! …so they can make their own decisions.
RMX Direct allows everyone to see the numbers. That includes ‘live reporting’ of all of the following:
- actual revenue dollars
- conversions
- frequency
- geography
- actual eCPMs
Furthermore:
- no one gets exclusive rights with certain networks: anybody can work with anyone
And the big ‘thank yous’ go to the esteemed, transparent-minded participating ad networks of RMX Direct that you can link to and work with.

Transparency seems to be a trend, in our newest iteration of the web.
We aren’t trying to be trendy though. We just want to help empower our community.
While some of the web is one way, the other part of the web is moving towards… another. And it’s a little more open-minded, and a little more open.
Or to quote the marketing Rev. Rabbi Seth at the end of one of his sermons:
The more they take, the more we give
The more they steal, the more we share
The more they lie, the more we tell the truth
The more they spy, the more transparent we become
Thanks for seeing through us. We want you to.

Thanks for the shout out Vince. You know I am a big supporter of what you, Mike and the rest of the gang are up to. Please, however, from now on replace “Rev.” with “Rabbi.” Last time I checked, there ain’t many Rev’s I have come across with the last name “Goldstein”. ; )

Hi Seth–your comment was a mitzvah! Whenever I quote your sermons in the future, I’ll be sure to use ‘Rabbi’.
And, of course, thanks for the shout out on what we’re doing!
