RMX Tool Focus: The Set-up Tab
![]()
(This is the first post in a series of articles on the different tool tabs in the RMX Direct for Publishers application.
You’ll also meet the people behind them…)
What’s this tab do?
Luke Walsh (Customer Satisfaction Manager): The Setup tab passes your publisher information to networks so that your linked networks know where to send your check and which URLs to approve for their campaigns. It’s a very complex solution, yet it remains amazingly simple for publishers to use.
This tab is unique because it distributes information to multiple networks at once. This is the first time in the history of the ad network business that a tool has been able to connect one publisher to multiple networks using one publisher profile. This is a new chapter in the history of ad management solutions, and it’s being written by Right Media and RMX Direct!
Why is it important?
LW: Well, it’s only important if you want to be paid
What role have you played in its development?
LW:I helped develop the initial specifications and made recommendations throughout the process.
What’s your insider hint for using this tab?
LW: Be accurate! Don’t accidentally send your check to your Aunt Linda.
Luke Walsh’s Bio:

What do you do at RM?
LW: Online marketing, some product development, business development. Basically whatever seems important at the time if I am capable of doing it.
How long have you been here?
LW: Employee #41. Long enough to remember when the Eugene office consisted of a virtual building and no printer. Right Media was around long before I arrived in winter 2005, but our Eugene office really exploded in growth last year.
What inspires you about RM/RMXDirect?
LW: Everything–especially Right Media itself. The speed of innovation and openness to new ideas at Right Media is mind boggling. Everybody’s encouraged to see the big picture, and if they don’t get it–and they’re even slightly competitive–they’re pushing their own limits to get there. It is very interesting and challenging work. During the development phase there were definitely times when the workload was feast or famine, and there were some communication issues early on, but the end result has never ceased to amaze me.
A ‘personal factoid’…
LW: I ran the Portland Marathon last year in under 4 hours -by 3 seconds!
