What do bloggers want from an Ad Network?

Darren Rowse raises some very interesting issues on the Performancing blog.

Let’s expand on some of his points:

Mystery - Transparency and mystery are a zero-sum game. Or are they? Is it possible to remain mostly transparent, yet retain a little product mystery? The kind of mystery that gets people talking about why you’re mysterious? And not caring if you change.

Lucrative - Very interesting to read that Chitika has surpassed Adsense for some bloggers. Not surprising, but raises the specter of the affiliate game once again - for the day when RMX Direct offers pubs the ability to plug performance campaign directly into their ad network tags.

Incentive to Refer and coach others - This might be one blogger hoping to cash in on his network of friends, or a good reason to reconsider some kind of referral program for RMXD.

Change Log - Not sure how this would apply to RMXD pubs, but it may be possible for banning of offer types or linking or unlinking w/networks?

Publishers within a niche working together - Built-in social networking!

Plug-Ins - We’re on it.
